Amber & Silver Time

Amber and Silver time is another exhibition, after Contemporary Polish Jewellery, which aim is to promote polish jewellery abroad.  This time the leitmotiv of the exhibition is amber - apart from silver - the most characteristic for Poland jewellery resource.

At the exhibition you can find over 120 pieces of well-known polish designers, who specialize in amber. Exhibition shows European audience and lovers of silverart in wide depiction current trends and  proves, that amber is both an excellent additive for traditional silver and gold jewellery and material used by polish designers as material of current, contemporary, inspiring and sometimes even provocative statement.

Artists invited to the exhibition represent different generations, different professional experience and paths of education, and, finally, different statement of realization – from typically design-like strategies of utilitarian nature, commercial collections, through unique, experimental projects, often, on principle, afunctional, up to objects treating the image of amber jewellery in a critical,  subversive and counterculture manner. Although this publication does not aspire to the role of a compendium of contemporary original amber craft, it is undeniably a summary of the present condition of this spectacular field of applied art – in all its aspects.
