General information

The Gallery of Art in Legnica was founded in 1971 as a state-owned Art Exhibition Office. Today it is a self-governing cultural institution. Its job is to popularize and promote contemporary art in all its aspects through exhibitory, educational and business activities.

The Gallery presents painting, drawing, graphics, carving, glass, ceramics, tapestries, objects and installation, video art, design and artistic jewellery.

The Gallery organizes individual and joint exhibitions of works by Polish and foreign artists, educational and open-air actions, happenings, workshops, film screenings, concerts, contests, lessons, lectures and sessions dedicated to contemporary art, especially jewellery.

The Gallery collects works of contemporary art, mainly painting, and unique artistic jewellery.

The Gallery is active in trading works of art (Niello Shop with work of art) and artistic jewellery (Under The Quail's Basket Silver Gallery), as well as in gastronomy (Pacykarz Café).
