Karl Fritsch

There was a  decorated toilet roll that was titled lack of inspiration.  It didn´t make it to the catalogue or the exhibition, but I thought it was an  honest  piece that expressed the  difficulty of finding a solution (that wasn´t completely stupid) to the given  competition theme of Exclusive. (please take your time and read the complete theme description).

I had sympathy for this artists slightly ridiculous response to the theme.

In the jury we had differing opinions about the big bracelet with beetles painted  on it.  This piece stuck out because it did  not really respond to the  theme, and it  could not be directly related to a well known aesthetic or trend in its appearance or the way it was crafted.  It looked like somebody just wanted to make this bracelet and apply their best skills in decorating  it with their favourite  creatures.

A bit strange –somehow  intimate –potentially stylish – something  exclusive.
